Southern Ohio Northern/Kentucky-Indiana (SONK-I) CONSORTIUM 2026 ANNUAL CONFERENCE SAVE the DATE The Missing Science of Physical Assessment: A Return to the Fundamentals of Nursing Practice March 27, 2026, 9 AM to 3 PM Sharonville Convention Center KEYNOTE Shannan Hamlin, PhD, MSN, APRN, AGACNP-BC, NE-BC, CCRN Dr. Hamlin is the Director of the Center for Nursing Research, Education and Practice at Houston Methodist Hospital and serves as Chair of Nursing at the Houston Methodist Academic Institute. She earned her BSN from Houston Christian University, and her MSN and PhD from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. A distinguished nurse scientist and leader, Dr. Hamlin is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Executive and holds CCRN certification from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She is a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine. Her research has garnered over $1.5 million in grant funding, and she has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications. She also served as Co-Editor in Chief for a special issue of Critical Care Nursing Clinics of North America on tissue perfusion and oxygenation monitoring. Dr. Hamlin serves on the editorial board for the journal Critical Care Nurse. Dr. Hamlin holds academic and advisory appointments at Houston Christian University and Rice University.
